THE FOCUS:

I will get started with the main goal of this teaching which I called the focus, and this is found in John 17:17 when The Lord Jesus was praying for the disciples.

“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth”.

As you read from verse 14 through 19 you will discover that Jesus said that the disciples weren’t of the world. We as sons of God aren’t of the world.
In verse 17 Jesus prayed to The Father sanctify them in your truth. The word sanctify means to be set apart from something into another thing. Thus Jesus was praying set them apart from this world into your word.
But as some may ask what does it mean to be set apart from the world? Are we supposed to take a side from the world, to find fellow believers and stay away from other people?
Indeed this wasn’t what Jesus meant. He meant to be set apart from the thoughts of the world, from the methods and ways of the world. To take a side from the wickedness and lies of the world and all the twisted measures you see around you. Then to be set apart from all these into The Word , into the thoughts of The Word , the ways and methods and measures of The Word . To stop taking your reports of what should be done in every situation from people and ideas of the world and to start listening attentively to what The Word has to say. For as Jesus says that The Word is The Truth.
So enough of the lies of the enemy which are in the world and let’s start embracing The Truth of The Word of God.

This change is biblically termed as “renewal of mind” which can be found in Romans12:2,3

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God”.

Here the apostle Paul is talking about the same issue. Not to be conformed to this world, not to accept the pattern of the world whose god is the devil (2 Cor 4:4). And to be transformed by the renewing of our minds which is a daily process.
To change continuously from the things of this age into the ideals of the kingdom of God, so that we can test and prove the perfect will of God for our lives.
And this process of renewing of mind can never be done apart from The Word of God which is the declared will of God.

Therefore it’s time to start embracing The Truth and give it way in our lives for as Jesus said in John 6:63

“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life”.

The words that you read and hear from the Bible are not mere words on paper, but they are life. It’s a process as I have mentioned before. You get The Word (read or hear), This Word renews your mind, then these new thoughts are translated into actions.
So I want to encourage you that this process is guaranteed and the change that will come to your life is enormous.
At times you will look back to your life and think that the one who acted this way is a totally different person than who you used to be. You will be amazed from the change, but you will be pleased at the same time.
