Time Alone With God (1)
Psalm 5
For the director of music. For flutes. A psalm od David.

1 Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my sighing.
2 Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray.
3 In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice;
      in the morning I lay my request before you and wait in expectation.

4 You are not a God who takes pleasure in evil; with you the wicked cannot dwell.
5 The arrogant cannot stand in your presence; you hate all who do wrong.
6 You destroy those who tell lies; bloodthirsty and deceitful men the Lord abhors.

Morning rush hour (Psalm 5:3)

You're running late, with errands to do and a work schedule to keep. Between gulping your coffee and getting ready for the day, you fire off a couple of "help me" prayers. Then to your surprise, you still have five minutes to read your daily devotion verse before racing out the door.
That's what the morning ruch--and the morning "quiet time"--is like for many of us. This approach is fine if you just want to say "good morning" to God, but quiet time by its very name suggest that we need to be still before the Lord. The writer of this psalm takes time to present his requests and then waits for the Lord to answer him. Is he for real? Absolutely yes!
If we want to have God's involvement in our daily lives we need to set aside a good quantity of quality time. For some, mornings are not the best time. Whatever time it is, our goal must be to have a regular, special time of communication with God.

How can you schedule more quality time with the Lord? Take time to listen to him
